Career and Academic Background before TAOYAKA Program

I graduated from Anna University, Chennai, India in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. During my studies, I learnt various concepts of Electronics Engineering with a hands on approach. Later, I did advanced training at the International Institute of Information Technology where my main area of interest grew in computer vision. It was a great joy working on several algorithms of computer vision. Working on it gave me a sense of problem solving. Afterwards, I  worked as a Research Assistant and then lecturer in the same organization for two more years. After my stint as Lecturer, I looked after my father’s business for two years. It was completely non-technical, but I learnt that leadership is not just a role but also a responsibility. I realized that in the process of  achieving goals, one should not break social and cultural boundaries. I also understood various aspects of business, right from finance handling to handling employees and clients.

Research Plan in TAOYAKA Program

To continue my pursuits in computer vision, my aim is to use High Speed Vision Systems. High-speed vision process uses a rate of more than 1000 frames/s or faster, whereas usual videos are at meagre 25 to 30 frames per second. I would like to solve the problems with respect to high speed vision and bridge it with disadvantaged area requirements. In short, my goal is to use such an advanced system in disadvantaged areas where such a requirement is essential.

I believe TAOYAKA program’s unique approaches to examine social, cultural and technical aspects for problems will help me to achieve my goals in the future. As per my perspectives, TAOYAKA leading program is an opportunity to learn various cultures, their functionality and requirements, which will broaden my knowledge, thought processes, and perspectives to look at situations and solve problems.

Career Plan after TAOYAKA Program

With the interest in solving problems and a vision to provide employment in my own country, I would love to become an entrepreneur. I would like to take up a real problem which is  faced by the people and look for ways to solve them. I feel that by doing so, I can create job opportunities and also contribute to the economic growth of my country.
