Career and Academic Background before TAOYAKA Program

Before entrance into TAOYAKA program, I was serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. As part of my academic responsibility, I engaged in teaching Economic Growth and Development, International Economics, Resources Economics, Statistics, and Econometrics at various times at the undergraduate and Master’s levels. Before joining the university, I worked as a research officer in Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) ─ the oldest representative trade organization of Bangladesh where I had an excellent opportunity to use my theoretical knowledge at a practical level. I completed my honors and master’s degree in Economics from Jahangirnagar University which is one of the top public Universities in Bangladesh for studying Economics.

Research Plan in TAOYAKA Program

My research plan basically focused on the technological development and economic change of Solar Home System (SHS) in Bangladesh and analysis the technological impact and benefit of SHS in disadvantaged regions poor people.
My 2nd research based on Bangladesh Labor Force Survey to explore factors behind the wage inequality at individual levels for different occupations and working places. Bangladesh economy is becoming reasonably dynamic, which is reflected in some selected indicators, for example, rising per capita income, poverty alleviation, universal primary education, healthcare facilities, etc. Rural region in Bangladesh also significantly contributes to achieving the goals of fostering economic growth and development. As an emerging economy, Bangladesh needs more broad-based rural research, where I could contribute to fill-in some research gaps.

Career Plan after TAOYAKA Program

There are many qualities needed to get success in life. Few of them are determination, positive and adaptive attitude, hard work, competitiveness, ability to envisage future outcomes and so on. Perhaps I will be able to gather these attributes after completion TAOYAKA program and I anticipate that it will give me faith and confidence necessary to attain the desired objective goal in life. I want to the work for the people who live in disadvantaged regions and no access to adequate energy for meeting their basic demand such as lighting, income generating activities and so on. In future, I have plan to join such international organization whose main objective is to enhance quality of life in the disadvantaged regions through provide cheap and reliable technology for solving energy problems on the basis of sustainable development concept.
